The CCC Linux Sig decided to go with Mepis for their new 3 part "Introduction to Linux" class. The things that people wanted to learn were disscused at a meeting in 11/03. Mepis seemed like an ideal distribution due to it's zero risk ease of use and install.
This quick review is the result of that introductory class. I attended the classes and helped develop the sylabus for the classes. To really get to know Mepis and how users might percieve it, I installed an old version on skimpy hardware. I then worked a little with the sylabus from the second class and took lots of screenshots.
I'm very impressed with Mepis. It's lived up to our expectations. It did a great job configureing itself on my system, the permanent install was the easiest I've ever done and it's even been easy to maintian.
